Sketching at the Naval Stores Kangaroo point - Brisbane

Saturday Sketchout with the Brisbane Urban Sketchers was a blast today.  We went to Riverlife at Kangaroo Point.  For midwinter, the weather was glorious.  25 deg Celsius

Naval Stores is a heritage-listed storehouse.  It was built from 1886 to 1900s. It is also known as Naval Brigade Stores and Naval Depot. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

This structure is one of  a series of seven viewing platforms or arbours along the main promenade adjacent to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs

This building is straight across the river from Riverlife, on the corner of Alice Street and Edwards Street. It is Restaurant II and has been for 15 years. It was,  Old Mineral House, and  is a heritage-listed warehouse at 2 Edward Street,  It was designed by Richard Gailey and built from 1888 to 1890s by William Anthony.

Fossil Fish by Christopher Trotter at kangaroo Point. It was challenging sketching this.  He used a heap of old metal bits and pieces, including strings to make this sculpture set in concrete.  It is just wonderful.
